Columbus Botanical Garden

The gardens at CBG primarily consist of a traditional homestead garden in the immediate vicinity of the farmhouse. Plantings include a formal herb garden and several short pathways through well maintained planting beds consisting of assorted perennials and ornamentals. Special emphasis is given to make sure the Garden is always full of color. Of particular note is the recent addition of the Sam M. Wellborn Camellia Garden. Nestled in the woods on the west side of the hill, this garden includes a collection of some 500 plants with winding trails that creates a destination separate from the rest of the developed property. During 2017, we completed the Sally H. Adams Vegetable Garden and Our Mothers’ Rose Garden. Both will have plantings year round.
