April Norris

to neighbors. The experiences growing up around musicians and recording studios gave April an

appreciation for what it takes to be a part of the creative process. Production of any kind requires

patience and endurance, so she is amazed when people see their visions to fruition

(it may be a flop, but not a failure).

April loves stand up comedy and has been known to bomb is such places as The Loft, Lemongrass, and No Shame Theater.

She's written for Electric City Life, The Local Magazine, and just joined the Columbus Writer's Guild to plug into the writing scene.

"It is an honor to be entrusted with viewing these artists’ projects in the Pop Up Film festival. It takes

a lot of sweat and dedication to host events that support our ever-growing art community. Having

worked in local art galleries I have seen how diligent artists have to be in order to get exposure. As I

watched these short films, I took into account the many hours of “hurry up and wait” that went into the

making of each 7 to 25-minute movie. My favorite movies are based on theme/plot, acting, editing,

quality of the movie and relevance. Did it move me/make me laugh/think?

It is great to see such diversity represented in the films that were selected. Thank you for allowing me to

be a part of such a cool thing happening in my hometown."
