I. Q&A INTERVIEW

Here are the Questions:

1. Tell about yourself; Who are you; Tell us what you are most passionate about; tell us some of your achievements and why you want to be the next Mr/Ms Columbus Georgia Pride

2. This years theme for Pride is “Not He, Not She, Just Me” Now these words are commonly used by our Non Binary Community. For millennia regarding sex, we have all been broken down into two categories Male and Female. ON every form we see it has two options Male or Female. Tell us if and why you believe that society should change the norm of being a two sex only optional society by adding a third option called Other?

3. Since marriage equality became law of the land, people have been bombarded by so many new terms, pronouns, neopronouns, definitions and more which leave many people scratching their heads due what is being called an information identification overload? Do you believe this will result in a better united society that will bring more people together in knowledge, acceptance and diversity or do you believe this will continue to divide our people and in fact turn more people away from knowledge, diminish diversity and acceptance of our community?

4. 93% of Transgender and Non Binary individuals can make it in today’s high pressured society with one key element: the acceptance, support and love of their parents and family.  Those that do not receive acceptance, support and/or love from their parents and families are destined for failure, depression, choosing to live silent and even attempts to commit suicide. What do you say today to those families and parents who do not support their children’s identity discovery process and How will you be a beacon to those individuals and families in need and help educate and lift them up so they can succeed? 

5. The Final Jeopardy Question is secret. It will be testing your knowledge regarding Non Binary Individuals. So Best Study Up on Everything Non Binary so you can answer correctly and gain the points needed to claim this years title of Mr/Ms Columbus Georgia Pride 2022

THE WINNER MUST BE ABLE TO ATTEND ALL REQUIRED ZOOM BOARD MEETINGS, ZOOM CANDIDATE FORUMS, TOWN HALLS, PERFORM OR ATTEND EACH BLOCK PARTY (FIRST SATURDAY OF EACH MONTH) AND WITH AMPLE NOTICE BE ABLE TO ATTEND CITY COUNCIL, JUDICIAL, OR STATE MEETINGS IF NEEDED. YOU WILL BECOME THE NEXT REPRESENTATIVE OF THE LGBTQ+ PEOPLE OF COLUMBUS GEORGIA.

STOP THE PRESS: COLGAY ANNOUNCES BIG CHANGE TO THE ANNUAL COLUMBUS GEORGIA PRIDE PAGEANT - INTRODUCING

MR - MS - MX COLUMBUS GEORGIA PRIDE PAGEANT

OFFICIAL STATEMENT:

I am excited to announce today that Colgay Pride is becoming more inclusive in our Pageant system. Over the last few weeks we have been discussing ways to make everyone feel included especially when it comes to the pageants. This year in honor of our Non-Binary members of the Colgay Pride Family we chose the theme which we felt would be a great next step from last years WE ARE HUMAN theme to this years new theme "NOT HE; NOT SHE; JUST ME!" For too long we have been boxed in and defined as one or the other. Now, its more than just Male (he) and Female (she); Now we will include Other (They) for those who just don't quite fit into a box. For too long we have been governed to think 2 dimensionally, but now we are thinking ourside and beyond the box and realizing there is a lot more to the gender identity spectrum than we ever thought possible all thanks to the human brain. In just the last five years I have watched our 4 letters (LGBT) grow into a whole new frontier of identities. And remember you can only understand it if you are one of those wonderfully unique individuals who are all on their own personal journey to self-discovery and true happiness. So therefore, in honor of our Non Binary Friends, we are now adding another crown to the race in the Columbus Georgia Pride Pageant; the MX title.

 THE 2022 MR/MS/MX COLUMBUS GEORGIA PRIDE PAGEANT 

Starting this year and every year forward we will include the MX title in our pageant. What does this mean? Well, if you identify on Non-Binary spectrum you can now compete in the pageant as well.

Instead of identifying as Male or Female, just simply compete as YOU. For your evening attire you choose what YOU would wear if you compared equivocally to tuxes and evening gowns. In other words, we want to see your idea of FANCY! For your Talent, whether it be singing live or lip syncing to music....Just Bring it On!

Our Colgay family is working everyday to continue our growth to meet all your needs for today and tomorrow. Our organizational journey is ongoing to ensure everyone of you beautiful souls will all feel included. Just like we encourage our friends to expand their minds and learn more new things, we too must expand our vision and programming to truly live up to the Colgay "WE SERVE ALL" Establishment program.  

Also, I know everyone is feeling the enormous pain at the pump along with inflation on everything we can think of....therefore to ease your burden we have cut the price to compete in the Pageant in half. That's right instead of $100 entry fee; It's only $50 to enter.  

Furthermore, Scrap the Song List & Color Scheme we gave you to choose from....YOU DO YOU and choose the song(s) you want to perform and choose whatever color(s) you want to wear. We are all Human and we are more than an he or she..WE are All ME's so do you! We look forward to seeing You on June 3rd 7 pm Broadway Columbus for the 2022 Mr/Ms/Mx Columbus Georgia Pride Festival.
